Greek Quiz — Adaptive CEFR-Leveled Language Learning

Problem

Language learning apps tend to fail in one of two ways: they either flatten everything to one difficulty level regardless of the learner's actual progress, or they offer levels but no real pronunciation feedback — leaving learners guessing at how a word actually sounds.

Action

• Built adaptive quiz progression mapped to CEFR levels (A1 through the higher bands), so question difficulty tracks the learner's demonstrated level rather than a fixed curriculum order.
• Built a text-to-speech pronunciation pipeline so every vocabulary item and example sentence has audible, correct Greek pronunciation attached.
• Used AI to generate grammar explanations tailored to the specific mistake a learner made, rather than a static rule reference disconnected from their actual answer.

Result

A learning app where difficulty actually adapts to the learner, pronunciation is never left to guesswork, and grammar feedback responds to what the learner got wrong — the three things that are usually the first to get cut in a language-learning MVP.
